Y si sigues un poco las noticias sobre tecnolog\u00eda, habr\u00e1s o\u00eddo hablar del inesperado regreso de Pebble.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El papel electr\u00f3nico lleva a\u00f1os pasando desapercibido a plena vista. La mayor\u00eda de la gente lo descubri\u00f3 por primera vez a trav\u00e9s de un lector electr\u00f3nico. Cuanto m\u00e1s luminoso es el entorno, m\u00e1s n\u00edtida es la pantalla. Bajo la luz solar directa, el papel electr\u00f3nico ofrece su mejor rendimiento. Las pantallas LCD y OLED pierden nitidez.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sin reflejos, sin luz azul.<\/strong> Dado que el papel electr\u00f3nico no emite luz propia, no provoca la misma fatiga visual que las pantallas retroiluminadas. La gama Kindle de Amazon demostr\u00f3 que un dispositivo dedicado exclusivamente a la lectura pod\u00eda resultar atractivo, no porque hiciera de todo, sino porque hac\u00eda una cosa excepcionalmente bien. La pantalla parec\u00eda papel. La bater\u00eda duraba semanas. Se pod\u00eda leer bajo la luz directa del sol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La tecnolog\u00eda no ha dejado de evolucionar. Los primeros lectores electr\u00f3nicos eran exclusivamente en blanco y negro. Hoy en d\u00eda, el papel electr\u00f3nico en color se est\u00e1 generalizando en m\u00faltiples plataformas. El Kaleido 3 de E Ink utiliza una matriz de filtros de color para ofrecer frecuencias de actualizaci\u00f3n m\u00e1s r\u00e1pidas y actualizaciones parciales, mientras que el Gallery 3 produce colores m\u00e1s vivos con tonos c\u00e1lidos especialmente intensos. Spectra 6, dise\u00f1ado para aplicaciones de se\u00f1alizaci\u00f3n y visualizaci\u00f3n, reproduce m\u00e1s de 60 000 colores con un acabado similar al del papel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Los propios dispositivos tambi\u00e9n han cambiado. El Paper Pro de reMarkable utiliza una pantalla Canvas Color de 11,8 pulgadas basada en la tecnolog\u00eda E Ink Gallery 3. Est\u00e1 dise\u00f1ado para escribir y dibujar, no solo para leer: un cuaderno digital que a\u00f1ade color sin sacrificar la sensaci\u00f3n de estar sobre papel. La gama BOOX de Onyx funciona con Android, lo que la convierte en un dispositivo m\u00e1s multifuncional. PocketBook sigue impulsando los lectores electr\u00f3nicos en color en los mercados europeos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El paso del blanco y negro al color es la tendencia que define esta categor\u00eda. Es lo que distingue a la generaci\u00f3n actual de todas las anteriores.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Smartwatches_A_Comeback_Story\"><\/span>Relojes inteligentes: la historia de un resurgimiento<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Aqu\u00ed es donde la cosa se pone interesante.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pebble fue la primera empresa en fabricar relojes inteligentes con pantalla de tinta electr\u00f3nica. En 2012, recaud\u00f3 m\u00e1s de $10 millones en Kickstarter, lo que supuso uno de los mayores \u00e9xitos de la plataforma en aquel momento. Los relojes eran sencillos, estaban bien enfocados y ten\u00edan una autonom\u00eda de varios d\u00edas con una sola carga. Sin embargo, Pebble pas\u00f3 por dificultades, fue adquirida por Fitbit en 2016 y la marca dej\u00f3 de dar se\u00f1ales de vida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Posteriormente, en enero de 2025, Google convirti\u00f3 PebbleOS en c\u00f3digo abierto. Eric Migicovsky, fundador de Pebble, vio una oportunidad. \u201cEl impulso para este relanzamiento de Pebble fue, en realidad, que Google convirtiera en c\u00f3digo abierto el sistema operativo de Pebble\u201d, afirm\u00f3. \u201cEsto no habr\u00eda ocurrido si aquello no hubiera sucedido\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En enero de 2026, Pebble ya hab\u00eda vuelto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El Pebble Round 2 cuenta con una pantalla de tinta electr\u00f3nica en color de 1,3 pulgadas con una resoluci\u00f3n de 260 x 260 p\u00edxeles, lo que supone el doble de densidad de p\u00edxeles que el modelo original. La pantalla cubre toda la esfera del reloj, a diferencia del amplio bisel del modelo original. El reloj tiene un grosor de 8,1 mm, cuenta con una estructura de acero inoxidable y ofrece dos semanas de autonom\u00eda. Est\u00e1 disponible en tres acabados \u2014negro mate, plateado y oro rosa\u2014 y su precio de venta al p\u00fablico es de $199.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tambi\u00e9n est\u00e1 el Pebble Time 2, con una pantalla de tinta electr\u00f3nica m\u00e1s grande, de 1,5 pulgadas y 64 colores, marco de acero inoxidable, puls\u00f3metro y pantalla t\u00e1ctil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La frecuencia de actualizaci\u00f3n de la pantalla del Round 2 oscila entre 30 y 40 fotogramas por segundo, lo que permite reproducir animaciones sencillas. No reproduce v\u00eddeos, pero gestiona perfectamente las esferas de reloj y las interacciones b\u00e1sicas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El regreso de Pebble nos recuerda que no todos los dispositivos de consumo tienen por qu\u00e9 ser potentes aparatos \u00abtodo en uno\u00bb. Hay quien simplemente quiere un reloj que marque la hora, muestre notificaciones, cuente los pasos y registre el sue\u00f1o, y que no haya que cargar cada noche. El papel electr\u00f3nico lo hace posible de una forma que el OLED no puede.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Digital_Photo_Frames_and_Art_Displays_A_New_Category\"><\/span>Marcos digitales para fotos y expositores de arte: una nueva categor\u00eda<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>El papel electr\u00f3nico en color ha dado lugar a una categor\u00eda que apenas exist\u00eda hace unos a\u00f1os: las pantallas de arte digital de gran formato.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Los marcos de fotos LCD tradicionales nunca acababan de funcionar del todo. Ten\u00edan que estar enchufados. Emit\u00edan una luz que hac\u00eda que parecieran pantallas, en lugar de obras de arte. Y nunca eran lo suficientemente grandes como para causar impacto en una pared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El papel electr\u00f3nico cambia las reglas del juego.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>InkPoster<\/strong> present\u00f3 en el CES 2026 lo que denomina las pantallas art\u00edsticas de papel electr\u00f3nico en color m\u00e1s grandes del mundo. Los modelos Tela y Duna se basan en la tecnolog\u00eda E Ink Spectra 6 y en una placa base IGZO de Sharp. Reproducen m\u00e1s de 60 000 colores sin retroiluminaci\u00f3n, resplandor ni reflejos. La versi\u00f3n de 40,5 pulgadas no lleva cables y promete una autonom\u00eda de un a\u00f1o. Una vez que se muestra una imagen, la pantalla la mantiene sin consumir energ\u00eda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Fraimic<\/strong> adopt\u00f3 un enfoque diferente. Su Smart Canvas utiliza una pantalla de tinta electr\u00f3nica Spectra 6 a todo color, combinada con un marco minimalista de madera negra. Basta con decir una orden en voz alta al dispositivo y su micr\u00f3fono integrado env\u00eda el comando a GPT Image 2.0 de OpenAI, que genera una ilustraci\u00f3n a todo color que aparece en la pantalla. La versi\u00f3n de 31,5 pulgadas comenz\u00f3 a comercializarse en julio de 2026. La duraci\u00f3n de la bater\u00eda se mide en a\u00f1os, no en d\u00edas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>LG<\/strong> Tambi\u00e9n se ha sumado a este sector con su pantalla de tinta electr\u00f3nica de 32 pulgadas (32RS1Q-B), que utiliza la tecnolog\u00eda E Ink Spectra 6 con resoluci\u00f3n QHD (2560 x 1440). Est\u00e1 dise\u00f1ada para se\u00f1alizaci\u00f3n comercial: publicidad, paneles de men\u00fas y vest\u00edbulos de hoteles. El dispositivo es compatible con bater\u00edas externas magn\u00e9ticas Qi2 para un funcionamiento sin cables.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En el CES 2026, 65%, una de las marcas mundiales de marcos digitales, present\u00f3 marcos con pantalla de tinta electr\u00f3nica a color. Los paneles Spectra 6 se convirtieron en el est\u00e1ndar de gama media-alta, ofreciendo im\u00e1genes con aspecto de papel, sin parpadeos y sin luz azul.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Su atractivo es muy sencillo: lo cuelgas en la pared, cambias la imagen cuando quieras y nunca tienes que preocuparte por recargarlo. Ofrece una nitidez incre\u00edble desde casi cualquier \u00e1ngulo de visi\u00f3n. Gracias a la pantalla de tinta electr\u00f3nica de bajo consumo, tiene una autonom\u00eda de ocho meses con una sola pila de bot\u00f3n. A diferencia de <a href=\"https:\/\/jiclcd.com\/es\/tft-lcd-module\/\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/jiclcd.com\/tft-lcd-module\/\">LCD<\/a> A diferencia de las pantallas LED, que emiten luz y contribuyen a la fatiga visual, el papel electr\u00f3nico refleja la luz ambiental.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Es un dispositivo peque\u00f1o \u2014un term\u00f3metro y un sensor de humedad\u2014, pero es un buen ejemplo de c\u00f3mo el papel electr\u00f3nico hace lo que mejor sabe hacer: mostrar informaci\u00f3n de forma clara y continua sin agotar la bater\u00eda. Para un term\u00f3metro no hace falta una pantalla brillante y llena de colores. Lo que se necesita es algo que se pueda leer de un vistazo, que no refleje la luz y que no haya que recargar cada semana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La misma l\u00f3gica se aplica a otros sensores dom\u00e9sticos, interruptores inteligentes y paneles de control.
