El problema radica en c\u00f3mo se ha dise\u00f1ado su funcionamiento.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La mayor\u00eda de las pantallas con las que te encuentras a diario \u2014tu m\u00f3vil, tu ordenador port\u00e1til, la televisi\u00f3n de tu sal\u00f3n\u2014 se basan en un principio fundamentalmente diferente al que hace que el papel electr\u00f3nico sea legible a plena luz del d\u00eda. No hace falta una luz de fondo para leer un libro al sol: el sol ilumina la p\u00e1gina. El mismo principio se aplica al papel electr\u00f3nico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dado que el papel electr\u00f3nico es reflectante, <strong>No compite con la luz ambiental. La aprovecha.<\/strong>. Una pantalla E Ink consume aproximadamente un 99 % menos de energ\u00eda que las pantallas LCD que se utilizan en los ordenadores port\u00e1tiles y las tabletas. Las pantallas reflectantes consumen mucha menos energ\u00eda que las pantallas transmisivas con retroiluminaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00bfQu\u00e9 significa esto en la pr\u00e1ctica? Significa que el papel electr\u00f3nico puede funcionar con una pila de bot\u00f3n durante a\u00f1os. Significa que la se\u00f1alizaci\u00f3n alimentada con energ\u00eda solar pasa a ser viable. Significa que se pueden instalar pantallas al aire libre en lugares donde tender cables el\u00e9ctricos resulte poco pr\u00e1ctico o tenga un coste prohibitivo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Las pantallas transmisivas consiguen visibilidad gracias a los vatios. En condiciones de poca luz, se activa la luz de fondo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Parece que es lo mejor de ambos mundos y, en algunas aplicaciones \u2014como los dispositivos GPS y los dispositivos port\u00e1tiles para uso al aire libre\u2014, funciona bastante bien.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sin embargo, las pantallas transflectivas tienen sus inconvenientes. Un expositor promocional que no se puede leer al mediod\u00eda no sirve para nada. Los carteles de papel electr\u00f3nico siguen siendo visibles durante todo el d\u00eda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Infraestructura de ciudad inteligente<\/strong>\u2014parqu\u00edmetros, quioscos de orientaci\u00f3n, paneles de informaci\u00f3n p\u00fablica\u2014 se benefician de la combinaci\u00f3n que ofrece el papel electr\u00f3nico de legibilidad a la luz del sol y un consumo energ\u00e9tico ultrabajo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Almac\u00e9n y log\u00edstica<\/strong> Las operaciones suelen implicar desplazarse entre espacios interiores y exteriores.
